| Short summary |
The Pandawa hero Bima (or Bhima), rescues the souls of his (step-) parents, Pandu and Madri, who are consigned to hell because of a curse on Pandu. He had killed deer that were making love, and so was cursed to die if he had sex. Bima battles the demons of hell (more equivalent to the Christian purgatory) in order to exorcise Pandu and Madri, and eventually he gains the liquid of immortality from the gods, so that the pair can be installed in heaven.
