Description
Large cremation scene in langse form. Bottom left, a princess has fainted? Pig slaughter. High priest with Gegelang, his queen and Prabangsa with courtiers, in front of them another pig being carried on a pole. A woman puts offerings on a high shrine with parekan kneeling next to her. They offer high sembah gestures to a bier with a serpent (naga banda) wrapped around it, while to the right a group of retainers carry a nine-tiered cremation tower, followed by warriors and a princess on horse-back. Top right is a small inset scene of palace women watching. Top, another pedanda with naga and other animal forms being carried in procession. A group of men with muskets accompany Panji and the other leaders. Top left is an inset scene with Panji and courtiers. Top left is a lion sarcophagus, the old form of royal sarcophagus (in present-day Bali a bull is used). Crows sit in a tree.
