Short description
Leading figure in Kamasan, particularly as an organiser of other artists. Bateson and Mead collected one painting from him, and he appears to have been active in organising collective work in the Banjar of Sangging from the late 1930s at least, as shown by two paintings from 1939 in Holland, Michigan, bearing his signature, but said to be a collective work by Nyoman Mandra. These were commissioned for the Netherlands East Indies Pavilion of the San Francisco Exposition. Bateson and Mead mention him as 'Made', but the Michigan work and the Pulesari genealogy of Kamasan have 'Ktut'.
