Description
Top left: Arya (court official) greets Prabangsa (Panji's brother) and his wife in their section of the palace of Gegelang (Urawan). Main top scene: entertainment for the king of Gegelang and his brothers, the kings of Kediri and Janggala (seated at the front of the row of elevated figures top right). A wayang (shadow play) performance by Panji's follower Kebo Tan Mundur, presenting the story of Queen Sita's abduction by the demon, Rawana, and Rawana's fight with King Rama's ally, the bird, Jatayu. Bottom Scene, centre: Panji and Prabu Melayu perform the canting (beaker on a stick) dance in the court of Gegelang, with full gamelan accompanying them, watched by their wives and fathers. The king of Gegelang (right) joins in the dance.
