| Abstracted summary |
Complete Story in a series of 4 paintings, including frank scenes of defaecation etc [each read L > R] [ref reg]. Exact story unknown, we cannot be sure that they are in the right order. 1. Panji and his main companion beat on black stones with short bamboo sections, (this is related to the so called gamelan bungbung) in Panji's case a standard and effective way of attracting girls. Below Panji is certainly Twalen complete with kain poleng, although he is rarely shown in Malat stories in painting. His presence here is confirmed in the next scene. 2. Twalen caresses a condong while Panji holds a high status girl on his lap while her servant looks on as do three more high status women and their servants. 3. Scene incomplete seven men kneel presumably in some sort of audience, the third from the right is probably Panji [ref LC]
