Description
Indian textile, "S. ? India. Used in small family temple by a Wesia family at Satria Klungkung. I can find nothing about the importation of such pieces but several exist in Bali. It appears to be painted with dyes and probably with a mordant by some process very different from Balinese practise (sic). An ancestor of the printed bedspreads that now flood the ethnic tat shops, but this is certainly all hand work, no use of blocks" [ref LC]
