"From Pura Dalem Gandamayu (Pande section of temple). Writing on the back states the title and the completion date: ‘Maha Bharata’ Puput ring rahina redite pon kulatir Panglong ping 10 Caka 1914 This refers to days in the 7-day week, 5-day week, wuku and moon cycle. Year is equivalent to 1992."
Extended description
1. Yudistira (on left accompanied by a kneeling servant) confers with Kresna (on right with ‘gelung kori’ headdress) and Arjuna (with a bald kneeling servant between them) regarding plans to go to the Korawa court in Hastina to negotiate a peaceful solution. A tree separates this scene from the next scene. 2. From the left are Twalen, Mredah, Nakula, Sadewa (all kneeling), Arjuna, Bima, Drupadi, Kunti (all standing), kneeling female servant, kneeling male servant, Kresna. A tree separates this from the next scene. 3. Yudistira in obeisance (sembah) to Dastarastra (the blind father of the Korawas and his uncle as Dastarastra is half-brother to Pandu). In a row beside Dastarastra are members of the Korawa party including Drona, Duryodana, Karna and the servants Dalem and Sangut.
