AMNH 70.2/1125 Ramayana: Sukasarana's spy mission

Ramayana. On the bottom right-hand side a group of demons, with Rawana second in the group, kneel before three priests. On the lower left-hand side Sugriwa talks to a grey monkey. In the top scene this grey monkey (on the left) clashes with the demon who is depicted in the lower scene directly in front of Rawana. Perhaps the demon is Sukasarana, being sent out to spy on Rama and his followers. A good 19th century work.
