Was concerned with the 'tan ana' or the 'niskala', the world beyond the senses (information Bruce Granquist). Tusan studied in Bandung, and his style shows the semi-abstract concern of the Bandung artists. His activities bridged the Sukarno and Suharto periods, and he was a mentor to many younger Balinese artists.
