| Summary of collection |
Two paintings possibly sent to Mrs Sarah Doremus, founder of the Women's Union Missionary Society (full title Woman's Union Missionary Society of America for Heathen Lands), by Miss Marston, a missionary to Burma. Since Missionary activity was halted by the government of the Indies in 1881 after the murder of de Vroom, it is likely that these two paintings pre-date 1880. Both in original condition, including their original gloss from polishing.
