Extended description
THE STORY OF MAYADANAWA'S DEATH IN THE RICE-FIELDS OF SEKAAN\t\nBy Ida Bagus Ketut Sawa, March 3, 1937.\nMayadanawa ran from Tampak Siring, chased by Ida Betara Indra. He was killed in the Rice-fields of Sekaan.\nSo then he was thrown in the stream, and that stream was cursed. They now call it Petanu river, from the words Pata-Mastu[way and cursed], because from then on that stream has been spiritually polluted by the corpse of Mayandanawa. His blood became its water. The water from that stream may never be used to irrigate rice-fields, even today.
