The hero of this story, Arjunasahasrabahu (Arjuna of the Thousand arms) is not the same as Arjuna of the Mahabharata. This story is part of the prelude to the Ramayana, and tells of the demon Rahwana. Rahwana disturbs the hero Arjunasahasrabahu when he is sporting with his wife in a river. The hero has transformed himself into his cosmic form in order to dam a river for his wife's ease. A battle with Rahwana follows, in which the demon king is imprisoned by the hero.
